Dear students,
Next week is the section transfer week. After add/drops, the coordination handles section transfers based on your submitted requests to avoid course-hour conflicts. For this purpose, a form will be published at the end of the add/drop period. Please be patient; we collect your data via this form. All requests (including your emails) made without using that form will be ignored and will not be processed.
The form for section transfer on ODTÜCLASS will be available from October 9, 2026 at 18:00 pm to October 12, 2026 at 23:59 pm.
Please read the following information carefully.
As attendance will be taken both in lectures and recitations, students are required to attend at least 60% of both the lectures and recitations. ( Students repeating the course who have previously achieved a grade of DD or above are exempt from mandatory attendance.) Therefore, students should make sure that their lecture and recitation schedules do not conflict with any other courses they are registered for.
Students who have a scheduling conflict or an acceptable and reasonable excuse for changing their section may fill out the section transfer form. However, filling out the form does not guarantee that the requested change will be made. All requests will be evaluated by the MATH 117 Coordination.
Please note that:
- If you are registered for example in a recitation subsection whose first digit is 1 (e.g., 1X) but you only have a conflict with the corresponding Lecture Section 1, your lecture section may be changed to Lecture Section 2, if appropriate.
- Similarly, if you only have a conflict between your recitation (but lecture hours suit your schedule) and another registered course, your recitation subsection may be changed to a suitable subsection, if available.
- Any changes will be made according to the available sections and the overall balance of students among the sections.
During the section transfer week, first, we will make the necessary changes for students who have valid scheduling conflicts or acceptable reasons.
After that, we may also make some arrangements without individual requests in order to balance the number of students enrolled in each section. Therefore, if necessary, a student’s lecture or recitation section may be changed to some other one in the same session (same hours) as the old one even if the student has not applied for a section transfer.
Best,
MATH 117 Coordination
